How to choose the startup volume<\/h6>\n

Follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Turn on, or restart, your Mac.<\/li>\n
  2. Immediately press and hold the Option key. After a few seconds, the Startup Manager should appear. The Startup Manager scans for available volumes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Press C during startup
    \nStart up from a bootable C<\/strong>D, DVD, or USB thumb drive (such as OS X install media).<\/p>\n

    Press D during startup
    \nStart up in Apple Hardware Test<\/a> (AHT).<\/p>\n

    Press Option-Command-P-R until you hear startup sound a second time.
    \n    Reset NVRAM<\/a><\/p>\n

    Press Option during startup
    \nStart up in     Startup Manager<\/a>, where you can select an OS X volume or network volume to start from.<\/p>\n

    Press Eject, F12, or hold the mouse or trackpad button
    \nEjects any removable media, such as an optical disc.<\/p>\n

    Press N during startup
    \nAttempt to start up from a compatible network server (N<\/strong>etBoot).<\/p>\n

    Press T during startup
    \nStart up in     T<\/strong>arget Disk Mode<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Press Shift during startup
    \nStart up in     Safe Boot<\/a> mode and temporarily disable login items.<\/p>\n

    Press Command-V during startup
    \nStart up in     V<\/strong>erbose<\/a> mode.<\/p>\n

    Press Command-S during startup
    \nStart up in     S<\/strong>ingle-User<\/a> mode.<\/p>\n

    Press Option-N during startup
    \nStart from a N<\/strong>etBoot server using the default boot image.<\/p>\n

    Press Command-R during startup<\/p>\n
